TOP TIPS IN MORZINE

Planks Morzine is run by year-round resort residents Roz and Angus who know the town and surrounding mountains inside out. Being located on Morzine’s trendiest street, the Rue du Bourg, the Planks store is lucky enough to share the area with the best coffee shop around, and snowboard pals Slopestyle and The Woods. Pop into store, have a browse, and meet the staff, who will always be up for sharing their knowledge and know-how about the place they love so much.

WHATS ON IN STORE...

YOGA WITH EMILY

Every Monday our fellow mountain lover and friend Emily Ruth Williams invites us to join her on the matt for a one hour yoga flow practice. As a skier and snowboarder herself, Emily is the perfect person to help get you limbered up for a day of riding, and a week of activities in which you may feel the benefits of some extra balance and concentration. She understands that the mountains are a physically demanding environment, and learning with her will give you an insight into how your body specifically can be trained to prevent injury and unnecessary strain, therefore keeping you shredding.

AVALANCHE AWARENESS WITH EVOLUTION 2

Make sure you don’t miss out on our next avalanche awareness evening, which will be held in store with guests from Evolution 2 Ski School, Recco and ABS, as well as members of the Chamonix ski safety patrol. This event is free and informal, and by showing up you’ve got nothing to lose but potentially a lot to gain. We can’t wait to meet more new faces at the next one!

PLANTS ARE POWERFUL

Plants are powerful, so are you! We’ve been learning about the heaps of benefits essential oils have to offer the mind, body and soul, communicated by long-term Morzine resident and all-round good egg Barbara De Moubray. What started as a one-off event is back by popular demand, every session offering something a little different to the last. Whether you’re suffering from lack of stoke, a tired body, or you simply want to learn more about the oils, get down and listen in! Once again, this is a free event, details and updates will be posted on our Facebook page.

MORZINE GO TO's:

Breakfast/Brunch: Satellite Coffee Shop

Lunch: Changabangs, Avoriaz

Dinner: Hideout Hostel

Keeping it Loose: Café Chaud or Laury’s

Laps: The Arare half pipe has just been re-built, and with a drag lift right alongside, you can easily lap it all afternoon. The pipe is opposite Changabangs, so make sure you stop by for one of their bangin’ burgers. Prolays is side-hit central and on bluebird days, the Chappelle Park is the place to be. If you want any advice on backcountry skiing in the area, talk to Gus, who will avoid using his lift pass if he can help it.
