Follow Us In France - Val d'Isere Seasonaire

So far it has been an unbelievable season in Val, with a mix of big dumps of snow followed by bluebird days to enjoy all that fresh pow. 

With the Val d’Isere store being the oldest Planks shop to date we sure aren’t letting that stand in our way. 

The smallest of all stores, we thrive on being part of the Val d’Isere community and love to keep things fresh and exciting. 

A new team, new ambassadors and new events mean we have been even more stoked to watch this season unfold. 

With Jack Evans, ex racers turned big mountain skier and Josh Armstead our Australian mountain man and the guy behind the lens we’ve had some awesome days shredding the piste, park, powder and everything else possible! 

Our newest store member, Hannah, told us a little more about why she has fallen in love with this awesome winter resort and where the best spots are around town.

‘Val d’Isere has quickly stolen my heart, giving the best community vibe I’ve ever experienced within a ski resort, full of friendly faces Val already feels like home. My favourite spot in town is Le Hibou, slightly out the way and therefore sometimes overlooked! With weekly events, including amazing curry nights, quiz nights and more recently live Saxophone and DJ’s, Le Hibou provides a great atmosphere all week round!

Val d’Isere saw blue skies and plenty of powder to start the season, the slopes have been super quiet and the pow has made shredding unreal! Glacier Du Pissaillas is my favourite area to ski, it’s full of hidden lips and side hits making it super playful, it’s also never busy so you’ll be guaranteed fresh tracks with friends!’

And with riding with friends being something we all love doing here at Planks this season brings our very own monthly PLANKS SHRED TOGETHER, giving us a chance to meet as many rad people as possible and all those rad people the chance to find other like-minded skiers to go shredding with during the season! 

Whether it's earning your turns, hitting the park or just shredding together with new friends that’s what this season is all about. Workmates, flatmates, dogs, cats and grandmas! Everyone is welcome, and so far it’s been filled with pies, powder, sunny days, new faces and awesome new pals.

And that’s just the start… 

If it’s a night out you are after, our collaboration with Dicks Tea Bar means after a day on the hill you can head in to store for some great deals and then over to Dicks for an off the charts night out. 

We are excited for the rest of the season to unfold, with a combination of new and old events coming our way. From our first park event with TDC to our collaboration with the very well known Monoski event to finish the season off in style!
